Missouri's annual back-to-school sales tax holiday will take place from Friday, August 1st, at 12:01 a.m. to Sunday, August 3rd, at midnight.

This three-day period provides an opportunity to purchase certain back-to-school items exempt from all state and local sales taxes.
Qualifying items and limitations

Clothing: Any article of clothing with a taxable value of $100 or less per item qualifies. This includes footwear and disposable diapers for infants or adults.

School supplies: Items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes, with a maximum purchase price of $50 per purchase, are exempt.

Computers: Personal computers and related accessories, such as laptops, desktops, towers, displays, keyboards, and mice, with a sales price of $1,500 or less, qualify for the exemption.

Computer Software: Computer software with a taxable value of $350 or less per item qualifies.

Graphing calculators: Graphing calculators with a taxable value of $150 or less are exempt.

It's important to note that the exemption is applied per qualifying item, and the purchase must be made during the designated sales tax holiday period by an individual for personal use.
